Use Grip Tools to Modify Objects
You can use grip tools to move and rotate objects and subobjects in a 3D view. Grip tools are displayed when you select objects and subobjects in a 3D view with a 3D visual style applied or when you use the 3DMOVE and 3DROTATE commands.
Grip tools are icons that you use in a 3D view to easily constrain the movement or rotation of a selection set of objects to an axis or a plane.
The move grip tool allows you to move a selection set of objects and subobjects freely or constrain the movement to an axis or plane.
The rotate grip tool allows you to rotate objects and subobjects freely or constrain the rotation to an axis.
