To rename a named layer state

  1. Click Format menu Layer States Manager. At the Command prompt, enter LAYERSTATE.
  2. In the Layer States Manager, select the named layer state you want to rename.
  3. Click Rename.
  4. In the Name field, enter a new name.
  5. Click Close to exit the Layer States Manager.
NoteAn alternate method is to select the layer state name and press F2 for in-place editing.
