To set new layer notification on and off

  1. On the Layers toolbar, click Layer Properties Manager.
  2. In the Layer Properties Manager, click Settings.
  3. In the Layer Settings dialog box, click Evaluate New Layers Added to Drawing.
  4. Click Notify When New Layers are Present. Select one or more options.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK to exit the Layer Properties Manager.
