To display DGN underlay names and their nesting levels within xrefs and blocks

  1. Click Insert menu External References.At the Command prompt, enter externalreferences.
  2. In the External References palette, click the Tree View button.
 Toolbar: Reference 
 Command entry: EXTERNALREFERENCES
 Shortcut menu: Select an underlay and right-click in the drawing area. Click External References.
